In 2009, the research unit of the English Department (ED) of the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL) was established in order to improve research and innovation of the university. Only a handful of teachers were involved in this initiative. This research focuses on the challenges which EFL/ESL teachers face when conducting research and to recommend solutions to those challenges. In the Statement of the Problem, the researchers talked about the development of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages in Cambodia since 1993, the university’s progress in research and innovation remains slow and undeveloped, and recommending teachers to conduct such research. So this research paper was not described about the challenges which EFL/ESL teachers face when conducting research and to recommend practical solutions to those challenges. I think the researchers should clarify challenges and solutions clearly.
